Local Rockers!

Everyone likes to find fun and new artists especially if they are from your hometown. A couple of my friends are aspiring rock stars and they really have what it takes to make it big. All they need now is a bigger fan base. So I decided, hey why not interview them and promote them and their bands all over the world wide web. Sounds pretty clever right? Well I thought so. Anywho, the two artist's are into two totally different genre's of music. Doug is a guitarist in an instrumntal band and Mike is a vocalist in a hardcore rock band. Two different genre's, two different styles, two different personalities, and one interview. Here we go!

It's pretty silly, I know. But if you guys want to learn more about these two interesting people and help them become stars I'll post some links to "like" their bands on facebook and check them out on youtube!

Junk of the Heart

The Kooks are an English indie rock band formed in Brighton, East Sussex, in 2001 and took the world by storm. Signed to Virgin Records just three months after forming, The Kooks broke into the musical mainstream with their hit albulm Inside In/Inside Out. The album was extremely successful, achieving quadruple platinum status in the UK within a year and also overseas. The Kooks found themselves entering into mainstream media attention by winning the award for Best UK & Ireland Act at the MTV Europe Music Awards 2006and picking up a nomination at The Brit Awards for the single "She Moves in Her Own Way. Well people, their coming back in full force. Their new albulm Junk of the Heart will be dropping September 13, 2011 and is now available to pre-order on Amazon.com. And I'm sure you guys know me pretty well now, and you should know that I wouldn't leave you without a little sneek preview. Here's your first listen to the first single “Junk of the Heart” and it's available to download today on iTunes.

Hardcore Styles!

The Devil Wears Prada. No not the fashion forward film about a poorly dressed girl who gets lucky with this crazy job and her life becomes perfect. I'm talking about the hardcore rock band thats killing the nation with their zombie loving music. Their last EP "Zombies" was epic and I have a feeling that this one is going to be even better! Dead Throne drops September 13, 2011. And guess what? I'm going to give you a link to get the first listen ... get stoked.

Now to their fashions.

Just because they aren't walking down the run way or designing there own line they still are up to date with there styles. The lead vocalist has the Buddy Holly look going for him with the comb over and thick framed glasses with his form fitting trouser's paired with a nice cardigan or jacket. The rest of the band is also fashion forward and these looks are becoming more dominant in today's rock scene. Looks like the Rocker's are going Chic.

Women Who Rock!

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum has opened a new exhibit that illistrates the role that women played in the Rock and Roll world. This exhibit highlights the best the worst, the unknown and any women that made and the Rock and Roll world what it is today. It spotlights more than 70 artists and covers two whole floors of the museum! The exhibit goes threw each and every era and educates what music was popular then and who paved the way for sex, love, and rock and roll.

Here's a little sneak peek of what's to be expected, enjoy!

"Occupying two floors and both handsomely mounted and thoroughly entertaining, the [Women Who Rock] exhibition strikes an agreeable tone by balancing a breezy overview featuring sexuality, fashion and a hint of scandal with a respectful nod to the musical, cultural and commercial achievements of the 60 or so women it has selected to commemorate."
